I wrote some stuff. Now what…?

Hey, it’s been a bit quiet here lately. And by lately I mean months. Nearly 6 months. And now it’s already March of the next year , and while I’d drafted a few pieces of writing during those months, this is the first time I’ve had the mental space to think earnestly about this part of my website. But that’s okay. January and February were incredible in many ways and have given me new ideas and inspiration for using this platform more regularly from now on.

Fingers crossed.

At the tail end of last year I suffered a decent, but still manageable, dose of creative fatigue. 2023 was an absolutely ram-packed year of work, travel, and new experiences. I absolutely loved it in every respect, but found little space in between, to exercise my own personal creative freedom. This year I want that to change. One way that will be is through shorter, less thorough pieces of writing that will allow me to continue documenting through words without the pressures and expectations of clients, and my own personal ambitions of writing a New York Times Bestseller with every piece.

I’m currently sitting at the airport in Amsterdam waiting for my flight to Tokyo. Yup, one of the great pilgrimages for any photographer interested in cars and culture. Next week is the Tokyo E-Prix, which is the reason for my visit, but I couldn’t resist hanging on a few days to discover this immense metropolis of nearly 40 millions people. But that’s still ahead.

For now I want to note down as many thoughts, ideas, behind-the-scenes, travel experiences and questions as regularly as possible, to help with my own reflection and growth, and perhaps you will enjoy some of what I write. That is to say, while this will remain predominantly focused on work, business, photography, film-making etc, I may from time to time wonder beyond that realm. We’ll see. Down the line I hope to expand this space into one of engagement, conversation and feedback, to equally learn from whoever may read this.

So stick around.
